To decrease the prevalence of dating violence amongst youth and young adults through preventative practices and education.
Eliminate teen dating violence and create a future where everyone is loved, respected, safe and thriving in relationships that are free of dating abuse.
We strongly believe that education is the most effective form of prevention. Our mission is driven with the belief that:
Teens can enjoy dating when taking a safe approach.
Educating young people about healthy relationships is critical to preventing dating abuse.
Teaching teens communication skills, effectively managing feelings, and problem-solving can prevent violence before it occurs.
Providing parents with effective tips for authentic discussions with their teen can bridge the communication gap.
PADVC Primary Focus Areas
Prevail Above Domestic Violence Center uses the CDC Social-Ecological Model to address the underlying causes of teen dating violence at every level. Prevail Above Domestic Violence Center focuses its efforts on teen dating violence, youth empowerment, parent engagement, and community connectedness to form an alliance of preventionists who are driven to prevent an ongoing cycle of abuse.
