Meet Our Board of Directors
Taelor Holmes
Founder & President
Taelor Holmes is a Pittsburgh native, advocate and a survivor of dating violence. Taelor launched Prevail Above Domestic Violence Center in 2022 to raise awareness on the prevalence of teen dating violence in our communities. One in three adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner.
At 17, Taelor had unfortunately become a victim to this startling statistic starting an ongoing cycle of dating violence for many years to come. Having been the only one of her closest friends in a violent relationship, she was unaware of where to go for support and safety. (PADVC) is Taelor's way of ensuring young people have the resources they need to depart from those unhealthy relationships and the ability to recognize red flags early on to prevent an ongoing cycle of abuse. Taelor has used her own personal experience and her passion for prevention to provide training in academic and community settings and influence young people to become leaders and preventionists in their own communities.
